In Shape by Reverend Tyles

How many books, TV shows, magazine articles, exercise equipment and "potions" have been dedicated to this topic? I turned on TV one Saturday morning and was overwhelmed by the number of products that were offered. Some of the products offered to get you in-shape in as little time as a month, and all that was needed was just a few minutes each day with their product to put you in tip-top condition. (Yes, I thought the offers were ridiculous also.) The money back guarantees did little to change my mind or entice me to open my wallet. I'd rather try something free like good old fashion walking or just cutting back on all the sweets. My frugalness always wins over "high powered, Street advertisements."
Let me present something to you that you may need to consider. Getting in-shape or losing weight first starts from within. In-shape, has more to do with what's inside of you, than any amount of physical activity can correct. The need to get what's inside of us in- shape is a lot more important than having the ultimate body we always dream of.
In Jeremiah 18:1-6 God tells Jeremiah to go down to the potters house to hear his word. V4 says "the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel as seemed good to the potter..." In V7, God says "O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter?" The changes God was referring to all had to do with inside stuff. Whatever you are on the inside, will always manifest itself on the outside. Beauty and good looks have never been able to cover up a poor self-image, a bad attitude, an angry mean disposition, or dissatisfaction with ones life. It's amazing how many so-called beautiful people are unable to stay married in a committed relationship, maintain healthy friendships or stop getting plastic surgery to correct a physical defect that's really an internal problem they try to solve externally.
Their In-shape is all too often in such bad shape, any physical beauty is ignored or just simply fades away.
Are you willing to let God do what he wants to do in your life to bring you up to his standard of beauty? It's so easy in this society to concentrate on our outer appearance and totally ignore what's taking place on the inside. People have raging wars taking place on the inside, but still manage to look like they're on top of the world. Let's not be public successes and private failures. People may admire you, and compliment you on what they think is the real thing, but you'll know what's really going on.
On your journey to lose weight or get in shape, please don't forget the spiritual part of your life. Your In-shape is a lot more relevant to your life than you might imagine.
Blessings on your journey to wellness
